Healthy Pores

For anyone looking into using the Healthy Pores system, there are a lot of consumer testimonials and websites backing the company’s claimed success. Initially, the website appears to be very informative and proves the treatment to be a guaranteed win. With success stories as great as these, I decided to look a little further into the product.

The Healthy Pores system is divided into three parts. First, there is a basic face wash which contains Salicylic Acid which helps to exfoliate the skin by clearing away dead skin cells and other clogging material that can make acne worse. Salicylic acid is found in many over the counter face washes and has been used by many sufferers of acne.

The next step is a treatment cream aimed at preventing acne. Reading over what the Healthy Pores website had to say about the cream, the information sounded encouraging; however, one small ingredient error makes this product seem bogus. The Tea Tree oil used in this product is incorrectly labeled as an antibacterial agent. The FDA strictly regulates which agents may be labeled antibacterial and which are considered just ointments. Unfortunately, Tea Tree Oil is NOT an antibacterial agent. The fact that this company claims the ointment will stop facial bacterial production through the use of “antibacterial” Tea Tree Oil just isn’t reassuring. Simply, the FDA doesn’t support Healthy Pores’ claim.

Finally, the third step involves an herbal supplement which claims to stabilize hormones and reduce oil production on the surface of the skin. While herbal supplements are often used to fight various health problems, I was troubled when I couldn’t find out exactly which herbs Healthy Pores includes in their “specific herbal blend.” When taking a pill aimed at “regulating hormones,” it is very important to see just what kind of “regulations” will take place- I sure wouldn’t want to wake up with facial hair!! This doesn’t seem like the most effective form of treatment for oil control on the surface of the skin and not knowing which herbs are controlling your hormones doesn’t sound like an appetizing pill.

Conclusion- Overall, the face wash is the only part of the three part system which seems to be effective enough to spend $90.00 a month for.
